Space Shuttle Discovery at Kennedy Space Center Florida
December 7, 2006

Launch was scrubbed so I missed it :( Was playing minigolf in Orlando 2 days later and the night sky nuked up as bright as day even though the launch was 2 hours drive away.

Only minor edit tweak, shot on long exposure.

Space Flight, Night Light by ~ObscuraVista - An outstanding look on how space shuttle's launches can create a different setting in the look of a night - even when the space shuttle is still yet to be launched.

This is a really nice photo. I wonder when Kennedy Space Center will start sending people into space again.

It was a Canon 30D on a tripod. You really need to use a tripod if you want long exposure.

Wow...that is an incredible shot. The way the light flows up through the clouds like that, really, really nice! Is all this from lights around the shuttle, or was it a thruster test or something?

It was the spot lights around the shuttle. The flight was scrubbed that night and launched the next day which I missed.

Sorry to hear you missed the launch. I've never seen one myself (with the exception of one that I was a couple hundred miles away from, haha), but I've heard they're pretty amazing.
